T.R.O.U.B.L.E.

If this face isn't the definition of trouble, I don't know what is.

Mom Brain

Yes, I went to work this way on Wednesday. No, I did not get dressed in the dark. And, even if I had, I certainly did not fold and put away my socks in the dark. I've got no other explanation for this one.

Thank goodness we don't have a "shoes off" policy at the office.

A Busy Week

This past week was full of firsts at the Casa Contessa. Sunday was my first "real" Mother's Day. Ib and his friend Billy grilled up a feast fit for, well, a queen. Monday was my birthday, and also my first day back at the office. Which meant that it was also Knox's first time at day care.

Thankfully, we found a wonderful lady named Jeriann to care for Knox in her home. We packed up so much stuff you would have thought we were moving in when we showed up on her doorstep Monday morning. Diapers, wipes, food, pack n play, blankies...and, of course, Mr. Giraffe E. Raffe.

Jeriann also cares for the granddaughter of a woman that Ib and I work with, which is how we found her. Julissa is 17 months old. Baby Carley is a day older than Knox, and Ava is 2. Yep...Knox has got himself 3 cuties to play with now. That's better than those stinky old, puppies, any day! I hear that Julissa has been giving him kisses already.

So far, everything is going great. The first week went by without a hitch. He doesn't cry when Ib drops him off, he is on his best behavior for Jeriann all day. And he is all smiles and laughs when I pick him up at night.

We feel so fortunate to have someone like Jeriann to care for Knox. She is really fantastic, and so is her family! She even sent cake home with me for my birthday.

And last, but not least, it was my first week back in the gym. Hooray! Threats of pregnancy complications coaxed me into couch-potatoism for 9 months. And, even though I got an elliptical machine on Craigslist, I found too many excuses not to use it (regularly) the past 7 months. But now, I've got one free hour after work, just for me. And I am taking full advantage of it! No excuses, and it feels great!
