Like father, like son: Knox has recently taken up the drums. As if he needed any more encouragement, we gave him a stainless steel bowl and a wooden spoon this weekend and he delightedly beat away. I've only got one wooden spoon, so...if you're looking for 1st Birthday gift ideas...
He also gets to play Daddy's big-boy drums once in awhile. He plays each one with purpose, leaning forward to reach all the cymbals. He gets a little wild with the drumsticks (Daddy should probably be wearing safety glasses, if not a full face mask), but a bit of practice will change that.
He's a bit of an animal behind the kit.
It became quite apparent that we've created a monster when we realized that he crawls down the hallway, opens the door to the drum room and immediately grabs the drumsticks. Ladies and Gentlemen: we've got ourselves a KnoxStar!
Since Knox is (we're guessing) only weeks away from walking, we figured it was time to get him his first pair of work boots.
They are a little bit big, yet. But he tried them out and stomped all over the house.
They should be just perfect to throw in some fire wood with Grampy and take a ride on Grammy's bulldozer in Pennsylvania. And then, once we get to New Hampshire he can go out and rake some leaves for Noni and Papa.
